Looks also like that bike is a Vincent Comet - seems they all had good taste in transport. Hard to tell though for sure - rear fender is wrong.

    Mama Cass's Sun Roof...

Looks like a dealer installed "Golde"-sun roof ...Probably installed by "Souther'n California Sunroof" here in Los Angeles...Cool.../ Lars...

So back in the day, you could get a dealer added sunroof for your 911/912? I guess I always assumed this was possible as I have seen VW's that had this done. Is there anyone doing this now? I would love to add a nice period correct "factory look" sunroof to my 912 as I bring it back to life.

No way, that's gotta be a factory sunroof.

    Early 911's with Sunroofs..."No way, that's gotta be a factory sunroof. "

Fritter, You're probably correct....that would make sense... so the factory installed "Golde-type" sunroofs on the really super-early 911-coupes(Pre 1965)?...The second pic below is of the 1965/911 (301532) with a factory Sunroof (w/o the bulge on the "leading" edge) and with drainholes. It was discovered just the other day after 20+ years in storage (http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...2-Found-20-yrs )...I own a 1973 coupe which was taken straight from the showroom floor in 1973 to the "dealer's installer" of just such a sunroof shown on "Mama's" car( have the invoice) and I also have a 1965/356 with a "Golde"-roof and they look identical with the bulge, no deflectors etc, etc....The other coupes have the "conventional" factory S/R's w/o "the Bulge" but with folding wind deflectors and drain holes(confirmed on the COA's).../ Lars...

Correction: It was actually "American Sunroof Corporation" (ASC)... http://automotivemileposts.com/aschistory.html

Lars, hmm not sure. You're the 911 resto guy, so....

All I know is I just finished restoring a '64 Beetle with a metal sunroof, and it's very similar to the 911 one. There is an entire subassembly "pocket" inside the car under the headliner that is spotwelded to the roof.

So, to install that in a 911 would be quite a task. I guess anything is possible!
