    New Bilsteins front & back

Finally got around to replacing the KYB front struts and white back shocks with Bilsteins....I had read many members were happy with the Bilstein set up...I noticed a world of difference on the drive home....While changing the oil I also had the valve cover gaskets replaced...This was a source of a small oil leak.

This car is finally coming around and is running solid.

    Cheers, Matt

I had a debate today about the rear billstein shocks I'm installing. I think both rubber grommets go on top in the engine bay, then the washer, then the nut. Am I right? My friend insists that the grommets get split and one goes at the top of the shock in the tunnel and the other grommet, washer and nut go on top in the engine bay.

I swear I removed the shocks with both grommets on top but he says I'm wrong and doing it my way means metal on metal contact, inside the tunnel at the top of the shock.

    Does anyone know for sure?

Yeah but the directions say both methods are correct.

Does anyone know the order of the grommets for rear billsteins? Is it male underneath pointing up and female in the engine bay? Thank you for your help.

It's the same as the above link for Koni's; it's the right hand picture
