    Whats the correct radio for a 73 911 E

I purchased the following and want to confirm it is the right radio for a 73 911 E and what it's missing. I remember as a kid the blue dot and it said Blaupunkt on it but thats it.

    Thanks

Chris. Mine came with a Blaupunkt Bamberg CR cassette player.

That's a Euro Frankfurt I think. Not sure about the year but its early 70's. It needs a chrome or black bezel that surrounds the "nose" and a face plate that mounts it in the rectangular dash opening.

The radio I bought is infact the correct one for my car. It matches the pictures in my owners manual. Just need to find the correct face plate. Hopefully not a needle in a hay stack.

LMKUU is what,s pictured in the owners manual for the 73 911 T E S. I am not saying you are wrong about it being the Europan version but as far as originality and having to choose one, the one pictured in the manual seems like the best choice.

I used to drive this car when I was 14 and remember the radio said blaupunkt and had the blue dot (I just don't remember if LMKUU was on this one).

Whichever one you install, be sure to add the period correct equalizer in place of the ashtray. I think I have one or two lying around since every early 911 I seem to buy has them already installed.

LOL, Mono radio with one speaker needs an equalizer. Bet the short wave sounded sweet ;-)
