    MFI Gear Drive Question

I am putting my MFI back on and have a question about the camshaft drive pulley installation. My camshaft is tapped for two m6 threads but is flush with the seal in the cam tower. The pump drive appears to have 4 bolt holes and does not appear to be a flush fit directly on the cam face as the back of it is not flush but instead looks like it would fit over some kind of spacer that would mount between the cam face and the pump drive pulley. Can anyone supply a picture or info on how this is supposed to go together? Thanks

On an MFI cam there is an extension as part of the cam that the pulley bolts onto. On a non-MFI cam we have had extensions machined and bolted to the end of the cam, sounds like that's what was done here. It's just that the extension is missing, but that's why the drilled and tapped holes into the back of the cam.

Thanks Ed, that makes sense. Would you have any idea where I can purchase an extension or would those be specific to each manufacturer?

I don't know of any one who makes them, we always just had them locally made. You might try the major cam grinders like Elgin or Crane.
