    Are these 65 911 headlight

    Are these the correct headlights for the 65 911

    those are H1s.. i may be wrong, and i know they were available in as early as 67, but not sure if 65 was too early or not.

    I don`t think the lens are of the earliest type, nice condition though..According to Brett Johnson`s 911 & 912 authenticity book,H1s started in 68 model year.....Cliff

    No these are not the correct lights for a 65. The 65-67 lights are flatter. H1's and H4's have that 'roof', the flat part on top of the lens.

    The factory archive photos of the 911R debut, 1967, clearly show the car with H-1s. So they were available before 1968.

    You need the 356 style buckets (but the chrome ring w/o the 'tab').

    they are much different than no tab. the profile of the chrome ring is very very different. the 356 and vw ones are much more rounded in profile. the porsche 911/12 early ones have a profile more like the h1s where the ring goes back at a sharper angle.
