Thread: Value of my 1970 911S roller?

Value of my 1970 911S roller?

My 911S targa roller will be listed for sale soon. Setting a price on this one has been a bit difficult so I wanted to get some opinions. It has been updated back in the 80's to a 930 shorthood. Although this is a very solid, rust free car, it will need some sheetmetal work to get it back to original. Both the front and rear latch panels have been "updated", although it was a very professional job. The aluminum VIN plate is no longer there but all of the other numbers are present. I'm keeping the following parts:

    930 Front fenders
    930 engine & trans
    16" Fuchs
    930 sport seats
    930 gauges

So, what do you guys think? I may just post it on eBay at no researve.

So, no engine or anything? Just the body?

Correct, no engine or trans. It does have a clean CA title.

I have found a couple cars that are somewhat comparable.

This 1971 S sold on eBay recently for $14,500. Very rusty, no trans, does have a mostly complete matching engine though:

This one was listed on TheSamba for $11,500 and is pending.

1969 S coupe. No engine or trans but very little rust and all factory panels/interior included:

I don't think my car will get quite as much as these two cars but is it really that far off?

I guess the answer is it's worth what someone is willing to pay.

If you could get $8,000 or more I'd say sell it.
