    Clutch cable removal

I am removing my engine and trans - 67.

One step is to remove the clutch cable. How does it disconnect? I see the nut on the end of the clutch cable (where it interlocks with the lever that goes into the trans), but when I turnithe nut, the whole thing turns, including the cable.

Is there a trick or some way to hold the other end from spinning? Or is there another place I should be disconnecting it?

    Thanks

You use a small vise grip on the unthreaded portion of the cable to keep it (the cable) from turning.

You might want to consider replacing the clutch cable while you are at it, unless you know exactly how old and what condition it is in. Trust me - it's much easier to deal with it now than at some unexpected time in the future.
