    Hagerty insurance has a valuation site that seems to reflect trends in the auction market. Not a bad place to start to get a feel for the ranges.

    Here in Europe, a Matching nr, orginal restored 1965 car , is about 90-110.000 euro

    A 1965 racecar with solex and driving history can bring uo to 120.000 euro

    It is very rare though, that a nice restored ( correct restored) 1965 car is put up for sale, and it seems that the best 65 cars is going up in price.

    I spoke with Hagerty this afternoon about the range for my 65'. The range they have is 43,100 to 120,000. A solid #3 car is valued at 69,000. How close these numbers are to real world is your best guess but it's something.

    * * * Foolproof SWB Pricing Formula * * *

    $75,000 - ((Factory Curb Weight - number of pounds of rust) * $35.00) = Valuation

    Zero rust = $75,000
    Two hundred pounds of rust $5,000

    Any questions?

    Your formula doesn't account for the rusted bits that have already fallen off. Then there's bondo.
