    Thanks guys,

will see how it plays out since the car is not for sale yet, but if it does come available i will keep it in mind.
Now saying this, tha car has had a body change, how much will this affect the value, should it bring the same value as aregular RS, or how much less.

    thanks

There are probably hundreds sitting on their hands after reading Platas last post---
Here is some "light reading" Platas:
    http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...must-read.html

I would suggest reading the first few pages and then the last few first. If you still have the stomach for it read the rest.

Well at least the chassis change is being disclosed, unlike 1316.

I am curious San, do you know when the change was done and who did it? Here in the US a change like this is illegal. What are the laws in the EU concerning this type of change?

To answer your question this would effect the value greatly.

Well tha laws here in Spain, are pretty stricy, you can not change the Vin number with out informing the Benemerita, its like a Gendamerie, also the apropiate Institutions, a lot of berucracy and so forth, now with all of this said, it occuers more than often that the vins are swapt out whe the car has had a bad accident, does not mean its legal.

In this case, the ower is an older gentleman, and i suspect that he is not much to be informed on RS, i would guess that the Dealer that sold him the car, told him the story like the thread, i will get to the bottom of this, and i will see if we can get the vins to the correct car or at least ,more info and a correct story, from who sold the getn the car.
The car is located here in Spain, saw a pic of it, its white with blue decals and wheels.
It is my understanding that theres a family who would like to reunite them selfs whit this car.
since reading the complete thread, i am no longer intrested in buying this car, i want an RS, but it must have a clean and acceptable bill of sale, also a car that in known by the Porsche comunity, and that its life can be traced with out any doughts.

I will try to post a pic of the car today.

Thanks to all, and will keep up an update, since its very important to have a trace

    San,

The thread on Pelican you responded to is about the fraudulently created RS 1316, which is a different car than you are inquiring about here which is RS 1331. The Pelican thread is a good guide for evaluating 1331. Can you take large detailed photos of the trunk stamped VIN as well as the aluminum VIN tag fastened to the trunk latch panel? Also it would be interesting to see a photo of the engine serial number to determine if the engine is the original to RS 1331.
