Thread: Who Makes the Heat Exchanger Support Bracket?

  1. #1

Cool Who Makes the Heat Exchanger Support Bracket?

I've seen a bracket that mounts to the bottom (2) bolts on engine mount on the case (just like the RSR megaphone bracket)
But instead of supporting the OD of the megaphone, it mimics the flange of the heat exchanger to muffler.
So, the support is mounted between the heat exchanger and muffler flange.
Does anyone mass produce this, or did I see something homemade.

    Thanks,

    Paul Rodelo

    Paul,
Have you deleted the regular factory muffler support bracket or using a different muffler that requires an alternate support?

    Sherwood,

The factory muffler support is still there.
I have an Anza 4 tip I'd like to try.
In addition, I've been searching for an Abarth.
I am told those are heavy as well.

The weight of both those units are supported by the heat exchangers.
As a result, I'd like to provide additional support so not to damage my SSIs.

    Thanks,

    Paul Rodelo

That support you saw sounds like a 914/6 muffler support. You'll likely end up having to make what you need.
