Original color? Could be my monitor but isn't that India/Guards Red?
I got a call from a friend just after OP asking if I could give him some #'s from the RedBook for a '69. I asked if he was on his way to look at this car. When he said yes, I told him I had just posted a link to the ad. He replied that he better hurry then. He just called to say his inspection indicated a project needing a lot. Frank, no telling what color it was re-sprayed. All records have been lost as well as a lot parts.
MH may add more detail of his visit.

Paint code on door is 6828-1. Car is pretty if you just look at the paint. Don't look underneath it The drivers floor pan has holes all over it. so someone welded sheet metal on the inside of the car and left the orignal floor panel. (just add another layer of shingles and the roof looks great) Same problem at the front of the car with major crack on the cross member part of the pan with more addtional metal welded to half of it. Many missing items like interior window winders and door pulls. No reciepts for any of the engine work, engine is leaking oil, not a 69 rear deck lid, I don't think its the correct Bosch mech fuel pump. Gas pedal is a door hing with the top of a stock pedal cobbed on. Linkage feels wrong very stiff , binding some where, motor starts and runs , did not drive , to much missing to even try. fuel pump VERY noisy, car has been piece meled together. Fuchs are 14s no sway bars smugglers box open to passenger compartment looks like it had air at one time.

Sounds like there's probably a digit missing on the "original miles".
T Shroud too.

6828-L is Golden green, so a pretty rare color.
Did you get the VIN or engine #'s, both are really important.

Researching Paint codes and Engine Build numbers
I can't find my notes from yesterday The cars was a very big disappontment. I looked very hard for "orginal paint and all I saw was red overspray. The owner believes he has repainted the car in the original color as that was what the prior owner had painted the car. I wrote down the engine number and even jacked up the car looking for the 901-XX number ( I could not find it). I never got a good story what was done on the rebuild. I don't belive the case was split and he claimed pistons were new but could not tell me if they were stock or JE or ???? All the "paperwork" he got when he bought the car he can not find including the title. He had to go to DMV to get an replacement title.
Speedometer is a 912 or 911 speedo, not a 911 one. So this is another inaccuracy.
