    Old seat belts

Does anyone know about these? Someone gave these to me a while back. I don't know if these would have been ordered by the dealer?
I'm guessing "American Safety" is some company that put out seat belts? and yet, the porsche monogram is on there. And they are pretty nice in that they are raised.....not just thermal ink...embossed.....whatever. So I'd like to clean these up a little bit and put them in the front. They are a little worn....a little rusty. mybe some polish on them ole buckles

have you given thought to the webbing ( belt material )? How old is the webbing ? How much time has it spent exposed to sunlight ?

Webbing typically is made from nylon. Nylon deteriorates in sunlight ( UV exposure ). Will it be up to specs should it be needed in an incident ? New webbing is available, if the rest of the hardware is still at spec.

New nylon webbing is supple when new, deteriorated nylon becomes stiff with UV exposure

I have thought of that. It's seems very pliable.....it bends very easily. I suppose i could jump off the roof w/it....see if it holds....
or yes....replace it would be safest
