    WTB/PC: (NLA NOS) Bosch 007 2.2S Distributor

I sent my original distributor to a german specialist for a check and potential rebuild.
He sent me a (pretty long) list of everything that’s wrong with it and offered me a completely new part for 1100€ ($1400).

Apparently some messed around with it before and broke off pieces (tabs?) where the springs attach to. It’s also bent. (? — how can it be bent when it’s broken off? I don’t really get it myself, just trying to translate what he wrote me). He told me this piece is hardened and thus cannot be welded.
Is that price for the NOS piece reasonable?

If anyone has a 2.2S 007 distributor in good condition (doesn’t have to be NOS of course!) for sale, I would be very interested.

Why not send it to another specialist? Or post a picture of what you need. I have some dizzy parts. BTW I think the 008 is the same dizzy but only has a different curve. Buying such a unit as a donor would even be cheaper than $1400.

I believe I have an NOS one; priced at $1200. (Probably works out the same as your quote with shipping and duty.)
BTW: "Only has a different curve" is no insignificant thing. There's a reason 006, 007, and 008 distributors have different curves.

It's not significant thing in the context / the way it's written. When he uses the 008 as a donor he can rebuild the 007 dizzy to the curve that his engine needs.

006 and 007 distributors have the same curve - the part number difference is for the rev limit on the rotor in the distributor. The E and S needs the same curve but the T cams come on at a different time so I do not think T dizy would work, at least that is what I have found by playing with different distributors in E and S engines.

You should be able to get a good used 007 for much less than half the price quoted to you for NOS.

Thanks for all the input and pricepoints! I’ll definitely try to find a cheaper route than the NOS.

Here are the pictures of the bent part he sent me. (don't ask me which one, I’m clueless )

Leider erfolglos. Besten Dank!

For the 2.2 E and S engines, the curves are both the same, just different rev limiters, which is a function of the rotor. So an E dizzy can be made into an S by changing only the rotor. Doesn't help if you need a concours # matching rotor, but find you an E and swap out the rotor.

I know the 2.4S, 2.4E, and 2.4T (MFI) also have the same curves. Replace for what you need.
