Must see video - Audi Quattro Racing up Pikes Peak - Absolutely unbelievable

I have never witnessed anything even remotely close to this, my heart is still in my throat:

Uhhh... It's a video game. You can even see the reflection on the screen.

that video of Ari Vatanan is insane especially the pasts where he has to taake one hand off the wheel to shade his eyes from the sun glare.

Agreed, that film is where I learned to use my hand as a sun visor.

Rohrl will be at Pikes Peak this July to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his win in the quattro.

Audi Club North America 2012 Pikes Peak

A couple of friends and I will be following Walter up the mountain in our rally quattros on a 'parade' run for Audi sometime during the weekend. It is unclear how fast Walter drives in 'parades' .... I'm hoping for something similar to the Rennsport Reunion 'parade laps'

Sounds very cool Curt. Have you ever been to Pikes Peak before for the races? Looks insane. One screw up and you are in a world of hurt. I wonder how many cars go over the edge? I never have heard of any bad accidents there.

Have not been there, but it appears less severe than Mt. Washington. The main goal will be to not become 'that guy' (i.e. that guy that rammed into the back of Rohrl, that guy that went off the edge trying to catch Rohrl, etc.) Of course it's all paved now, taking much of the fun away.

I have never been able to find a good video of Rohrl at Pikes Peak. All of them seem to have poor video quality. Most are in German.

    How cool is dat?

I "get" the environmentalist's reasons for paving the road (all the dust is choking-off the plant life), but Pikes Peak will never be the same.
