    Dashboard replacement?

Has anyone recently installed a replacement dash from Lakewell.com in 69-73 911? I'm curious if the fit and finish is close to originals, I remember past threads critical of the fit (even critical of Porsche's replacement as well) Any input would be appreciated!

    Thanks, Ron

After researching this topic quite extensively about a year ago, I decided to have my cars original dash restored by Tony at Autobahn Interiors. The finished product... even though it now has a seam which the purists may criticize for not being "correct"... is stunning in appearance and it fits perfectly.
    Cheers!

I bought a Lakewell dash haven't fitted it yet appearance is good but not the same as original less grain

The radio grille is bolted in place (have to cut bolts they are too long) which is an issue if your speaaker gives up the ghost have to pull whole dash out.

I was told 12 months ago by head man at Porsche Classic that they were re doing these dashes correctly to replace the bad ones they have but no sign of them being available yet.

Fitment looks like it will be fine all tabs where they should be compared to an original but haven't fitted it yet. Price is OK also compared to Porsche but a good re skinner should be able
to do a decent job for way less money.

Message #42 for where I got the dash and #62 for installation.
Still very happy with the end result.
Only issue as Clyde points out is with the speaker grille.
Make sure the speaker is ok before and you'll be fine.

Tony is currently doing a dash for me. There will be no seam on the '68 two piece style dash.
