    Question Front suspension pan measures

    Hi there!

Im in the process of fitting a new front suspension pan and front slam panel.

Got a little bit confused after spotting this, can anyone explain? Could the diff. be explained by "upper" and "below" measures? Seems odd, or maybe I´ve just lost it?

Both pics are from OEM manuals.

The number in parenthesis is called a reference dimension. It is redundant information and the toleranced dimension governs. Normally it would agree with the toleranced dimensioned however...

Looks like the first drawing is looking from the bottom up.

1st drawing doesn't really make any sense since the other mesurement on same drawing shown inside the one you are refering to is a higher number yet should ofcourse always be les than the outher one :/

With a new pan you just need to worry about the 497 front to back dimension and then measure the opposite diagonal from the inside front control arm mount to the opposite rear. It should be 814.86 +/- 1.5. Those 2 measurements need to match left and right to be sure your are square. You also need everything to be level when measuring.
