HELP : Best carpet set for 1968 911

    Hi Guys,
I'm looking to buy a complete carpet set for my 1968 911L. Still deciding to go with the Hargann set from Autobahn (Tony Garcia) or from Automat in NY. Who has the better quality/fit/price? Any suggestion is appreciated

Not familiar with automat...but all of my experiences (carpet set, dash pad restore, door pockets restore, front compartment carpet) with Tonys products and services have more than satisfied me.
    Cheers!

The best I know is Lakewell http://www.lakewell.com/en/products/porsche/911/65-73. I recently buy an Hargan set for my 2.2 70'.
For the 68' set, the driver carpet should be one part and not 2, like they currently do but on a friend's request they will do it 2 parts (he own a 68'). I can suppose they will do it soon for every SWB. Ask them about this detail, they always respond email even if you need sample.

I've done several interiors with Tony at Autobahn (56 and 59 A coupes, 73S, 67S), and have a 65C cab and another 67S going there soon. He gets all of my business. I would hazard a guess that he's done more interiors for people on this particular board (and RGruppe as well) more than any other supplier.

    regards,
    Eric

I have been to automat and actually did a factory inspection there a few years ago. Their products were very high quality at the time and they had excellent quality control (I inspected them for quality certification). At the time they were great at doing specialty orders and the owner is a car nut who had a Porsche.
