    Early Non-retracting Seat Belts

I have an early 911 with the non-retracting seatbelts and they are frozen and I can't seem to get them to adjust. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to spray on them to loosen them and get them working properly. I think they have not been adjusted in a longtime and just froze up. One belt moves a little bit but you really have to pull hard. Thanks

Problem with the metal is that most everything you use to free them up can stain the belt. You could try a dunk in very hot water first. I have seen old seatbelts that didn't rust together but had a nice calcification-looking white crud that froze them up from spinning and stuck the belts onto the rollers and a good cooking freed them right up. Seatbelt soup anyone? Once freed up consider removing the belts and washing them with a bit of fabric softener to make them supple again.

Air goes in and out, blood goes round and round, any variation of this is a bad thing.

Mine were stuck when I first bought the car. I was able to pop off the outer cover on the adjustable part of teh buckle and disassemble it to clean the moving parts. They work great now.

Mike, I've had the same problem, sent my belts off to a belt restorer who replaced the webbing. Supple NEW webbing adjusts correctly again!!

    I used successfully silicone spray.
Afterwards I cleaned them with the tornador gun and a mixture of water and orange oil cleaner.
    Cheers
