    1967 soft window 911

check the 67 911 SWT on ebay. what is the general opinion about trying to preserve its originality or doing a complete and comprehensive restoration? opinions from the respected members would be appreciated. thx

Absolutely positively NEVER restore it. It is too original to be restored. they are only original once. Bring some shine back to that paint and make sure it is technically safe to drive and that is where it should stop.

I am a patina freak, sorry.

Wow....This could be a very cool "survivor" 911. Fix the motor and resist the urge to touch anything else. Then drive it and have fun with it.

go figure... I heard there wasn't a single 'softie' for sale at the Essen show, so even if you brought a big wad of green, you could not buy one.

I really like the Bahama car the way it sits. Hope it gets to be 'conserved'.

    Jules,

    You are miss informed.

There was a '68 bahama yellow 911 softie offered by a Dutch company and I didn't see a 'sold' sign.

** I checked my notes, it was offered by lexclassics.nl **

hope the high bidder is in California
great opportunity to build out the engine - once you drive one, you will never go back to a heavyweight 911
only issue is the fear of SUV's with iphones

    Richard,

I stand corrected - I was going by what I was told.

I just checked their web site. The only '68 bahama yellow targa listed has a glass back window. Is that the same car? It does look like a very nice car.
