I just bought a set of these and wondered what you purists thought:

It's a shame to take them off the desk mount but I bought them for my car

Wow, those look great. Are they new manufacture? If so, where did you get them?

Nice indeed. I've seen them and they're faithful recreations, unlike the Monaco wristwatch.

I got them from Retro UK, they just got them in. I paid what people are paying on Ebay for original ones but I figured that these will become just as collectable in time (if not more) and as they are new, they won't come with any hidden wear or damage - and they have a two year TAG Heuer warranty too!
So I go to the official TAG site and under price "ask for a quote" Am I the only one that finds that aggravating?

I agree Rob, why the added layer? Just state the price.
Retro UK's price is about $5900 retail... Swiss market they're CHF 4500 ($4900) which is what they're sold for here.
It's tempting, a brand new set of clocks with presentation case and warranty (future collectible?) for reasonable money.
On the other hand, nothing beats originals and a good set can be had for a little less. Send 'em to Heuer for service.

Tag's write up is a little confusing; it's not really a recreation in that at least the Auto-Rallye half is entirely new. The original was only a stopwatch cased as a dash timer. The Monte Carlo had the jumping disc and it's reset button was on the opposite side of the stem. The earliest Monte Carlo had three buttons. The new edition is kind of a hybrid of everything and in it's own right is pretty darn nice.
I've seen them ofered for 3500 euro's, should be around $4600 shipped stateside:

I've also seen a Japanese seller offering lots of NOS Heuer stuff on e-bay for a couple of months now:
