To my eye the Michelin XWX looks a bit chunky on an early 911. Has anyone tried the Michelin XVS in 185/15? I ran a set of XAS 165/15 on my '66 911 back in the '70's and remember liking them. I have the Vredestein Sprint Classics on my '72 currently and have no issue with them.

Vredesteins have a classic look but in my experience they lack grip in dry acceleration and braking. Grip in dry cornering is predictable, and if you follow the "it's more fun to drive a slow car fast" axiom, you won't be unhappy. I ran the Yokohama A008Ps for years, and loved them, and was sad when they became unavailable.

If you can afford it, I would go with the CN36s. How many miles per year do you drive? The tires might "time out" before you wear out the tread. I have not heard good things about the XWXs.

Mine are on 15x7s. They do look chunkier but I like the look
