What? No comment,or are you implying a need for this to become a trend here in CONUS.All installed with the mantra "saving lives", when it is all about cash generation to support the existing regimes.

For those naive enough to think this is all about the 'public good",here is how things work in the real world. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2...-light-cameras

The public good was the laughter heard when I shared these. Note the one photo with "Free Country" on the toasted camera.

Revenue generators for governing bodies and contractors alike, at the direction of consultant "traffic managers".
I like how these get torched in the UK, with a gasoline-filled tire... necklaced!

We've got stoplight cameras everywhere down here, as well as street beautification "improvements" designed to limit flow and force traffic towards commercial areas. Discussion of speed cameras is going on now. A friend who works as a county traffic engineer says getting the programming down for synchronizing stoplights is cheaper, safer and more efficient time and fuel wise but district reps prefer VISIBLE controls like narrowed streets, cobble intersections and speed bumps or tables. A perfectly safe 45MPH, 4-wide main avenue near us was narrowed to two lanes and 25MPH. I never recalled seeing anyone really speeding on that road before, but they sure do now... mostly people in the neighborhood that insisted on the road change.
