    An electrical why

So my cigarette lighter and radio recently stopped working. I checked the fuses and they seem fine. Any other reason for this issue that someone might know? Thank you.

They share a common earth, so you might want to follow the brown wires from both the lighter and radio back to where they are earthed to the body and clean the contacts. If you have a multimeter then if you have 12v or so between the supply feed to either lighter or radio and the body when the ign is on then it is the earth that's the problem. If not then you have a problem with the supply.

If the fuses are O.K. and you have a dash with a separate speaker grill on top, use a plastic spatula, or similar to lift it up. The section of the wiring loom/harnes for both the lighter and radio are right under the speaker.

I think you'll find the earth for both behind the Passenger (for a LHD car) front hood strut.

This is God's way of telling you to stop smoking and spend your time listening to the beautiful music emanating from the engine compartment rather than Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannitty.

Ah that must be it Peter, I was listening to Limbaugh (so you and I would have something to talk about) and his idiocy got me so annoyed that I kicked the dash and knocked out my electrics!

Anyway thanks everyone for what seems to be a fairly direct cause and effect situation. Plastic spatula here I come.

Just because the fuse looks good doesn't mean it is. Use a volt meter and check for power on both sides of the fuse.

Yale, you can always buy a hannity-meter here and solve the problem by checking for power

Check for loose wires going into the fuse holder too. Go through and tighten all the screws down while you're in there.

Consider also going back to the fuse box and double check the wires going in and out of the fuse box are getting electrical current. Double check too any male/female connectors as they too have lots of fun corroding and rendering you happiness without Rush.
