Thread: ARDC Sports Car Carnival - Eastern Creek 19 & 20 May 2012

A tough event for me - but with some positives.

The good - a PB in the last race and two second place class finishes.

The bad - a MASSIVE spin/slide at T1 during qualifiying after hitting the oil of a blown Alfa engine. Destroyed 4 tyres and was very lucky that the rears did not blow. Could have been much much worse. Ran (albeit slowly) on very hard old tyres for races 1 and 2 before getting time to fit some fresh rubber for race 3.

The annoying - my targa performed flawlessly during the drive out on Saturday, then refused to start. Prime suspect is the starter motor. A big thanks to Justin for his assistance in getting me going.

Weather was great also and EC is looking much better for recent works. The new ARDC garage bar/cafe is excellent.
    Cheers, Ryan

I wish - a little scrape and dent action occurred.

Matt and Justin were taking pics.

Great Weekend and even though my car failed to finish race 2 another fault with the clutch plate. I was happy with its first shake down run. I am hoping to run again in June.

Ryan great to catch up with you.

Justin cant wait to see the pics.

By the way I am very very rusty and i needs lots of practice to be as fast as Ryan

Thanks Matt, great photos as usual!

Ryan, I may have a spare rear RHS lens here somewhere. Looks like the whole rear quarter got a wave through it? That's a mongrel to fix.

Walko, great to hear you're back in a seat!

The quarter is pretty much ok - its pretty localized to the rear corner.

Lens would be helpful thanks. Let me know if you find it.

Ryan, it's a bugger about the damage, albeit it small. On the other hand, some great results...getting faster all the time.

Matt, nice shots as usual. Love the last one with daylight under RC's front left tyre.
I was on my way out on Sunday, but then the rain started. Did you get any pix of the clubbies?
