    FS: RS door panels

I'm moving in a different direction on my new door panels so these are up for sale.

This is for the set with hardware. They were originally purchased from Original Fit Interiors several years ago. I had them done in a material called Wallabe which I believe is a very close match to the vinyl on my '68 door panels. It's far more rich black and synthetic looking than the German vinyl I currently have on a roll from Autobahn. Today's German vinyl is more of a really dark grey and more supple in appearance...much the same way recovered steering wheels always look more grey than the blacker original factory material.

Overall they are in great condition and will include the fastening hardware and leather strap handle which was purchased from Appbiz because I wanted the faux embossed stitching. However, I do want to mention the following:

    1. These panels are a little puffy due to a thicker foam that was used. Not sure how thick the Appbiz panels are but these seem puffy to me and is evident at the sheet metal screws and plastic door pull.

    2. You will need to use the provided sheet metal screws with cup washers which have bigger heads than stock (or at least '68 stock screws).

    3. You will, of course, need to use all the mounting points for obvious reasons so new holes required in your doors.

    4. The leather strap is short so I had to create an extension - totally not pretty but functional.

    5. The plastic door handles are the only items NOT included but these can be purchased from Appbiz or elsewhere or buy the metal ones.

    6. Please see close up of bottom rear corner of passenger door. I should have mounted it about 1/4" further up as you can see the impression of the door opening on the body. This did not happen on the driver side.

    7. The screws from Original Fit Interiors to mount the plastic door handles are not pretty. Personally I always meant to change these out.

Mounting these door panels, or any RS door panel from whatever supplier, do require "tinkering". For example, I JB Welded a nut on to the door to receive the allen bolt that secures the front of the leather strap.

I believe these are being offered by Appbiz for $285 but they do include the plastic door handles which are $16 ea.

$115 OBO plus $12 shipping to the lower 48. Local pick up $100. Please contact me with any questions - bobt@werkcrew.com.
