    Synthetic oil in 68 911S ???

    I've never had an air cooled before, and I'm a 30 year Mobile 1 user. Is it ok to use synthetic in a 68 911S?

    It is fine to use synthetic. One issue tho is some people have had no-leak engines begin to leak when switching to synthetic.

    Welcome and congratulations on the new ride. The consensus is a "stickier" oil, rich in zinc and phosphorus, is preferred. Brad Penn 20W50 'Racing' or 'High Performance' and Swepco 306 are two often mentioned. There's a recent thread here on the subject: LINK. For all the gory detail, see the thread on Pelican LINK.
