    new member introduction NJ/NYC area

    Hello All,

I am new to this board and would like to introduce myself.

My name is Kevin I live in West Caldwell NJ; I am married with 2 small children and over the past few years have become more and more enamored with the 911 and the SWB cars in particular. My mom was the sports car driver in our house. She drove a 944 and later a 968, both guards red. I learned to drive in the 944 and spent many a day driving the 968 WAY too fast. I attended pca events at Pocono when I was about 10-12 (drooling over the RUF 911’s) and a close family friend had the first 930 and first 928 I had ever seen.

I am in the final stages of building (having built) a 1976 lightweight turbo 911 and I am now looking forward to my first SWB project. Luckily, I have found 3 cars to buy as a package (yes, they were in a barn)

Looking to do a 912 “hot rod” with the tub like this (356 color pascha red maybe), but with early bumpers:

To be fair, the “barn” comment was a bit of a joke, yes they were in a barn, but I did not find them per se…

They were being stored and when I spoke to the owner about a SWB project car the response was sort of,” how many do you want”!!

The deal was really for the ’66 911 and the other 2 came along for the ride. The ’66 needs an engine and trans. but everything else appears to be there for the most part. The ’68 911 is basically complete and assumed numbers matching at this point, but has been “updated” over the years.

Herzlich Wilkommen to a fellow traveler of the SWB path. I've done many, many touch-and-go's at Caldwell airport back in the day, great place. And you are close enough to make it to our McSorley's outings, where the topics range from LWB to SWB to LWB to SWB Seven years have I spent restoring my own '66, and happy to help you on your journey. OK that sounded like Yoda. . .
