    70S suspension restoration question

    The front sway bar stabiliser levers and all four rotor dust covers are in very good shape and are the original gold color. They are not quite as shiney as I have seen in pictures posted on this board. My question - should I consider just cleaning them up and restoring the rest of the suspension.

    If the plating hasn't broken down I'd just clean them. The original finish is/was Cadmium which is getting harder to find someone to do.

    I think you'll find that most people zinc plate, which would explain the difference that you're seeing.

    Don't be too aggressive with whatever you do bc the finish is very thin and what looks good now will quickly change on you with too much scrubbing.
