Tom, I think you missed your calling. You would have made a great television golf announcer.

No laughing in the booth. No cracking jokes. Can't help myself.
whispering… "Well, it looks like Bubba is in a tight spot." "If there was a shitehouse around I reckon he could bank it like Kevin Costner in "Tin Cup". "Personally, I see a (left handed) banana hook coming out of the woods followed by a hard astern roll a-la Minnesota Fats with a arse-load of "english" on the ball.
"David Beckham couldn't do it better with a football."
Broadcast Announcer: "How nicely worded Tom. Your command of the English language is spectacular (NOT)."
"KMA! I call 'em like I see 'em and in deference to where the game was originated at least I used shite and arse".
Epilogue:
He did hit a banana hook (which travels in the opposite direction of a righty) with lots of english on it and it did do exactly what he intended. I made that shot 20 years ago on purpose around a grove of trees and quit playing golf soon after (mine was a slice). That ain't no fishing story either.
I eventually gave my clubs away and have never considered playing again. It's a neat game but ADHD took it's toll. I do admire the fellows who are good because it isn't an easy game and you'll never be good playing once a week.
PS: Cheaters: Try some Chapstick or WD40 on the head of your driver. It's illegal but you'll hit it straight because the club can't add spin which is your enemy.

Somebody please put a potato in Conklin's exhaust pipe Friday night. When he tries starting his car at 3am to sneak over to the swap meet, the backfire will wake everyone and give them a fighting chance at the good stuff.
