Still no price? Maybe the rules are only for some.

Not necessarily for sale. Sounds like it's a shout out to the possible owner of the correct chassis...

It's the For Sale section and rules are that goods need to be priced (but besides that it also reads "we have for sale" and it doesn't give any additional terms which exclude interested parties who don't have the correct chassis .. ).

Dave originally placed his post in the General section and it was moved here so it was not his intention to 'break the rules'. He might not even know it's here yet.

Can this site please loosen up a bit. This is an informational sight about cars, not the CIA anti terrorist board. Imagine if you had that 69 S and were looking for that engine. Too many threads are ruined on the S registry by people trying to play "know it all" or "one upsmanship" and the "thread police". I for one hope that the engine and chasis are reunited due to this thread. Thanks for posting.....

Apologies for not posting a price yet. I was hoping that someone from the community has the original chassis so this motor can be reunited. As for price, yes- I should do that, but will refrain until we do a compression test today. We just got it running yesterday (after a 3 year slumber) , and despite the lube smoke (we pre lubed each cylinder), it runs very well. I can't drive it as its in a race car ("Sorry occifer, but it was just a quick test run " does nothing to allay the wrath )
Will post compression results and price here later today

    thank you

okay, Ran a compression test today and here are the results: Cyl 1-4 130-135 psi, Cyl #5 100 psi- leakdown past the rings and valves, Cyl #6 is 130 psi.
Purported to be 2.2 displacement, but have yet to verify that. Smoke all went away after burning it off. Has titanium retainers and race valve springs.
Motor will come without the exhaust system, sheet metal surrounds. Has a green E shroud , 911T webers, PMO air cleaners
Cost is $10k as is, or if you want to buy the complete 914-6 "GT" race car that it is installed in, figure on $17,500 <<< cheap way to go vintage racing !

Trying to track down the last builder of the motor for more details
    Thank you
