    Recscued From the Dustbin

I recently found a file of paperwork for my father's freshly restored '72T, chassis number 9112102655. He was going to throw the file of receipts away with the reasoning that, since the car has been completely restored and highly modified, the records are no longer relevant. HOWEVER, I don't quite see things the same way as him, so I stole the file and stored it at my place for safe keeping.

Tonight I decided to go through the paperwork and see what was in there; I was pleasantly surprised by what I found.

Apparently the car has been a Southern California car since new. The earliest receipt I have is from 1974 and written to a man named Mr. Coleman whom, I assume, was the second owner. The car changed hands again around 1976 and was owned by a man in the Pasadena area named Mr. Brennan. I have receipts from Allred Porsche/Audi, Rusnak Porsche+Audi Pasadena, Townsend's VW/Porsche and Bursch ... the most recent receipt is from 1981.

I have a telephone number for Mr. Brennan and I may even find one for Mr. Coleman when I look more closely; I never thought I'd be so interested in contacting a previous owner but maybe that's because I've never had this much information available about the previous owner(s). I wonder what they'd think of their former 1972 Silver 911T now that it's Beige Grey with burgundy leather interior and an '86 Carrera running gear...

That's where the trail goes cold, and it picks up again as a mildly-molested project car in a kid's garage in Pasadena where I found it.

Of all the things I found in the file the only piece of paper that I think has any relevance beyond this particular car is a pamphlet I found. I took some photos to share with the board ... or, more specifically, Raj.
