Wow, if Chuck hasn't found one of these unicorn horns...
    Here's the story.......

I got my '73 in early '89 and within a couple of months realized there would be two items that would make life easier:
    - A duplicate right hand small rectangle outside mirror.
    - A left/driver's side door pull arm rest.

My first quest was for the (nonexistent) left side factory mirror including phone calls to the UK (I had no Aussie mates at the time) with of course no luck. "Two mirrors on a '73? we used two small Durants over here mate"

Within a few weeks I acquired a factory '73 parts manual and soon learned there was no such thing as a factory small rectangle right side mirror.... duh ......HOWEVER, there was in fact a left side (right hand market) door pull.

So now armed with the part number I made my UK calls again.
"Hello, oh, you're the Yank that was asking about mirrors that never were, what now?"
When I asked him about a left side door pull he said...
"Now that's curious, me a my other Porsche parts mates have been selling all of these we can get our hands on, funny it took you guys this long to figure it out. Can't help'ya mate, sold the last good one I had a couple of weeks ago"

This was late '89 maybe early '90.......... and so it goes

Again, this was my experience only, it might have been/or might be different for others...

I think our community could use a GOOD reproduction.......

I will look through what I have to see if there any spare. We have 4 RHD cars undergoing resto work so if I have 5 of these RHD grab handles I will let you know.

    Thanks

I've only had my 71 for a week and that was the first thing I noticed... where the heck did the door pull go. I'd like to have one myself.

Thx for the story, Chuck! If Alan finds one spare, you of ALL people deserve to have it! I'll stand in line after you to see if John finds one.
