Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to get one at the Porsche dealers?

However, you cannot buy one currently (or at least according to the thread).

These are the areas that would give me pause. The "glued" connections and the threaded areas. You'll have to be careful not to over-tighten these. The plastic isn't going to take a lot of abuse. Plastic isn't always fond of ethanol either.

I've seen 70'a Ducati "glass" tanks implode from having any alcohol introduced into the system.

Sithot you made a good point above, i have witnessed someone attempting to tighten down on a used tank and the neck just turned right with it (Tank was trashed). These tanks are hard to come by in the U.S. But as 69Sman said you can get them from Germany but with a higher price than the one i have. I think i would rather pay less for the product and UPS Ground charges rather Freight shipping.

Where does one do a search like the one in post 2? Is that the main Porsche website?

Mobius911, Im guessing it might be some type of Porsche Pet maybe? Or possibly a website. I would like to know as well.
