    Value of 1970 E coupe

    Hi all,

I have been looking for a 911 since last fall and next week I get to drivea car that is for sale but not publically listed. It is a 1970 E coupe that is stock 5 speed with fuchs, 3 owner car in dark blue (exact paint code unknown) with black interior. About 140,000 miles with all reciepts for last 22 years of current owner and with complere engine rebuild at 93,000. Very well maintained with records of chain tensioners, new alternator, koni shocks etc. Paint is described as average.

I hope to have pics next week and I know close valuations of 40 year old cars is difficult but is there a ball park range it might fall in?? Car is represented as number matching with original tool kit.

$40K - $60K depending on exact condition and options - more... maybe much more... if its cherry, original color and has good options.

Buy it, at current rates of appreciation its a $100K car in 2 years and a $250K car in 5. Then again... some crazy people (like me) think that collector car values can actually decline sometimes...
