    Hard cranking windows

Is there any standard maintenance procedure for hard cranking windows?

    Thanks

Check your tracks. If the felt is worn out you are running glass on rubber. Also check to see that the windows are not cocking to one side or the other.
You can lubricate the rubber track with a silicone spray that dries and leaves some lubricity behind.

    Good luck!

I had my door panels off to replace the plastic and lubed the regulator mechanism, sliders and pivots. Made a huge difference in winding ease. Door lock mechanisms and check straps deserve attention too.

While you're in there check your pivots and springs.

Could someone please explain why, when using the replacement Stoddard hard channel fore, aft and top, the windows are really hard to crank in a SWB? The Factory successfully used hard channel fore, aft and top in the 356 and the SWB cars and the windows wound effortlessly. I use only a thin coat of rubber cement to hold them in place. And at $50+ a channel, I would love to know what the problem is.
