Thread: Black interior vinyl trim occasionally turns white.

Black interior vinyl trim occasionally turns white.

I have a black RSR vinyl interior trim kit from one of the usual suspects. From time to time parts of it, almost always where it has been touched by my hands, take on an odd white cast which looks almost like mold. This seems to happen more often in summer heat than at other times of the year.
Wurth cockpit cleaner banishes this stuff, but I'm thinking there must be a protective product that would hold it at bay in the first place. Does anyone know what the vinyl is reacting to (it appears to be hand contact) and how it can be better protected?

Thanks Chuck. I've seen it but never used it. I assume you mean the stuff you find at your flaps, not the special aircraft product.
