    Escort Cosworth . . .

    . . . in BC . . .

    http://bringatrailer.com/2012/05/10/...t-rs-cosworth/

. . . This 1993 Escort Cosworth is a rarity in any condition in North America, but this one looks to be clean and offered at a not-crazy price. The selling dealer says it has only 33k miles and is fully optioned. Find it here at Splendid Auto in British Columbia, Canada for $19,900 CDN . . .

. . . These Escorts have the totally over-the-top rear wing that makes a XR4ti look rather sedate. Silver works well on these cars, and though the original 5-spoke alloys are okay, rally wheels from Compomotive or OZ seem to work even better . . .

. . . This car is said to have the Lux package, including power options and leather seats. The car is right-hand-drive, so we suspect that it either came from the UK, Japan, or Australia, though no history or importation story is given . . .

. . . That Cosworth valve cover looks great under the hood, and we aren’t sure whether that strut brace is an aftermarket piece or if it was included from new. The 2.0L Turbo powerplant is among the most tuneable in existence, but most of your parts will likely have to come from the UK . . .

. . . Interestingly, this offering is about the same price as a late Ur-Quattro in similar condition. We’d have a hard time choosing, but would likely lean to this car just because it is so rare on these shores. Could we wait for 2018 to bring it into the USA? Nope. We’d have to find some way to sneak it in before that . . .

That's a LOT of car for the money (too bad about the RHD). I doubt they will ever be available that cheap in coming years. A friend used to co-drive Mike Whitman's full-on Group A Escort. He said it was totally badass ... but maybe that's obvious
