I have recently noticed there is a number stamped on the back of the first page of the Maintenance Book, does anyone know the significance of the number?

From my June '73 sold '73S...
BTW - For those who never heard the story, my car was sold to it's original owner by our own S Registry adviser Michael Hammond when he was selling cars for Circle in the '70's.
..............yeah, it's a very small world

for what it is worth mine is 208389 for an Australian delivered June 73 production 911E coupe
I have no idea what the numbers mean either
I thought for a minute (when i looked at it in the booklet) that the last 4 might relate to the production number.............but then i looked at my production number which was close but was not a match
we need a bigger sample, and from different original delivery areas and years (and perhaps engine types and body types)
i note with interest the number of them that start with a 5 (although Bernd has one with a 3 - was that US delivered?) Maybe there is some country code and or engine / body code in them...... or then again they could be random (however with the German search for order and structure in everything I doubt that)

That number is the 'Kundenheftnummer' (Client booklet number)
Porsche recorded also the number of this document.
