    Tool arrangement in tool kit

Please don't mistake this question as being too anal, but is there a "correct" arrangement for the tools in the tool kit? Car is a '73.
    Thanks.

If you're curious, that's not anal. If you go outside and duplicate the perfect factory layout with your tool kit, then that IS anal.

You're on the wrong site if you are worried about being TOO anal. Not a chance! Most of us labor over much more important minutia like bolt head markings, stitching, seat perforations.... the list goes on and on.
So, I'm not sure how correct it is, but I've always used the following site as a guide for tool arangement:

So I shouldn't tell you about the very old tool kit I found in my dad's garage that has Mercedes symbols all over the tools?

Ohh, now that I want to hear about. And since it's Merc-related, it's not anality, it's perfectionism.

    Kent:

The bag shown on that web site for a 1973 is not like the bag in my car. In mine, all the tools are on one side and it has snaps not a clasp.

Aha, the 73.5 bag with snaps. My understanding is that only the later MY '73 kits were of the snap variety. I think they kept the snaps for the impact bumper cars as well, but my knowledge (or general lack of) ends with the '73MY.

I had a 356 concours judge answer that question by telling me to look at the drivers manual for the correct order. Is there a picture in your 911 manual showing the tool placement??

My 73.5 tool kit is like what Harry described. All tools on one side with 2 small black coated snaps.

My '73 drivers manual only has a pic of the tools, no bag included... shoot.
