    Question Question....

    Hey guys,
Now that you are more of a group over here let me ask this again...

Who the hell is this James Constantinidis who came over here in 2010 and virtually took everyone
in class 'to school' in his rather unassuming '71 small block Corvette at our Coronado Vintage Races...

He had'm standing in the stands and it was bloody amazing to watch....

Hi Chuck, I had no idea he raced that car in the States! Its raced in the same class as the 74' Carrera's that went to RR last year from Australia. One of the other guys here might have more info on car/driver.
Here a some pics I have from a Sydney Historic meeting.

The Carreras are very quick and pretty much dominate group sc, IIRC he was mixing it up the front with the Porsches.

He only uses the car here in Regularity, and is quick!

But obviously the car does not comply to Group S spec, therefore it is modified, otherwise he would be running with the 454 big block (red one) and the now demolished ones of Paul Sabine (two of them now wrecked!).

There's a Demetrios Constantinidis running a Corvette #96 at Eastern Creek in November in Group Sc

Then in March at PI there's a Steve Constantinidis running same color and same number Corvette in Group Sc.

Qualy times for PI is here http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re.../2012.PHIL.Q21

There are 3 Constantinidis running same color Corvette?

    Thumbs up

You can see here that he pretty much devastated a pretty strong field up here in 2010..........

    Group 7 — 1962-66 Production Cars over 2500cc
    1. James Constantinidis, 1971 Chevrolet Corvette (1:17.058 fastest lap)
    2. Brad Hook, 1973 Porsche 911 RSR
    3. Jim Halsey, 1965 Shelby GT350
    4. William Connor, 1964 AC Cobra
    5. Alex Curtis, 1965 Ford Mustang
To me car itself was interesting because of it being underwhelming...

    - Almost a full interior w/roll cage.
    - Modest LT-1 looking type engine with headers some chrome bits.
    - Underneath it looked like it had a basic 'first stage' type Guldstrand kit (or something equivalent)

That's about it.......... but he just drove it like a man possessed... but clean

I'm racing this weekend and I'm pretty sure this car is too. I'll try and have a look.

This car, and mine, runs in our Historic Group for Production Sports Cars (known as Group S). I'm in the 1960-1969 sub class, whereas he is 70-77 sub class.

In the 70-77 sub class, 74/75 MFI Carreras are the hot ticket, with the exception of one or two Pantera's at one very high speed circuit.

We have to keep a mostly full interior, original panels, stock wheel widths, stock induction, single plug etc
    Cheers, Ryan

The mystery deepens, THREE Constantinidis and one gold color Corvette?

RC, Perry's Pantera is fast at every Vic circuit. From memory he won at Winton both long and short tracks and Sandown as well as PI.
