    1969 911/912 Chassis...SoCal

I have mixed emotions on this car. It has been sitting in my shop for the past 6+ years waiting for the owner (Nick Reed) to decide what kind of hot rod he was going to build. It was sidetracked for several years by his BMW friends trying him to convince him to make it a mid-engine. Thankfully I didn't have to chain myself to the car to keep them from doing it. In the end, nothing happened with the project and Nick had me wheel it next door to Paul Kramer's shop to have him market it. Here is the info from Paul:

    1969 Porsche 912 Chassis

    Burgundy (6808)

    Original Paint (except hood)

    Clean and Clear California Title

    SOLD

The 1969 Porsche 912 chassis has been a favorite among early 911 tuners. It was believed to be one of the lightest chassis configurations of the 911/12 built as well as the benefits of the longer wheelbase. Unfortunately, they only made one year of the 912s in this configuration and as a result, their values have grown considerably. The thought of taking a nice 1969 912 and turning it into an RS clone makes many 4 cylinder lovers cringe. That is what makes this rolling chassis so special.

The current owner of this chassis purchased it over 6 years ago. It was a very complete car that had sat in a dry Nevada garage for decades. The goal was to turn it into a 911 RS hotrod for R Gruppe. However, other projects came up and got in the way. And, unfortunately, poor health has prevented him from ever finishing the project.

This chassis is remarkable straight and shows no signs of accident damage. The paint appears to be all original except for the hood. There is no serious rust…just a small spot on the left front fender (see photo), and a small amount on the front pan. The headlight buckets and battery boxes look great.

Everything you see in the photo is included. We do not have any other parts except what you see in the photos. The scaffold structure holding the chassis is also included. We are not interested in parting out the chassis. We are just selling it as is.

    Thumbs up

Looks like a great start for a project Jeff..... Starting with the lightest stock LWB chassis makes it even sweeter.

    Good luck on the sale
