    Thanks...I'm enjoying the process. Patience is a virtue

    Pretty close to stock. I don't want to hide it's history by making it a concours-like-it-rolled-off-the-showroom-floor, but rather something that pays homage to it's life as a SoCal sports car. Fortunately, the person who turned it into a race car saved 90% of the original parts...this makes things a whole lot easier. Much of it needs to be restored, but it is better than having to hunt stuff down. When it is done, it will be 95% street car with subtle touches of its race history. We cut out the front part of the roll cage, but left the "B" hoop in place. It will also have the wheels it raced on which are 7x15 fuchs (normal street tires of course). Cosmetically, the rest will look stock. It will have correct '67 flat seats with correct wool houndstooth inserts. The mechanicals will be a bit hot rodded. The engine is a 2.5L short stroke built from a 1968 case (we have the original numbers matching case). In race tuning, the engine put out over 210hp! Should be a hoot to drive

    Shouldn't the hood hinges and petrol (gas) tank be black too?

    Wow! Just when you think you know these cars well. That's amazing...I've never heard of a '67 911/911S/912 having the scoops...anyone else?

    My 67S was produced in April of 1967 and has different headlight rims than the bahama yellow one on ebay. could it be possible that a very late production 67S have some 68 trim. for example the rocker moulding. The car on ebay has 68 type trim in that area as well.

    In relation to the 68S rocker deco on this car, please take a look at this post on page 4 on another thread (post #31 by Rennman, Don Ahearn).

    I spoke with Don this morning regarding this, he has information from Alois Ruf that the 67S type rocker deco continued on into early 1968 production.... Alois recently purchased a 68S from Don.

    My June 1967 build car does have the 1967 rocker deco trim on it (based on pics from 1969). Unfortunately, I don't have those pieces. I'm torn about putting reproduction on the car. I figured that, unless I found a pair, I would let whoever buys the car when its done decide what they want to do.

    The problem is finding the decos. Nearly impossible.

    Wife and I happened across an orange 67s that is about to be listed for sale. Very nice car overall. The owners rep said they just bought (and installed) the side decos...paid $4800. For reference we were told that the car will be listed for $150,000. http://www.truspeedmotorcars.com/cars.php

    I have seen Pauls car and even in its current dismantled state it really is gorgeous. That color makes the car look alive.
