    Looking for 911S engine # 6311303

Longshot I know, but I must try! Just got my COA from Porsche on my 1971 S and would like to mate up the original engine with the car. Probably the last known location was Orange County in CA

Dumb question but why isn't there a lost/found section for engines/cases on this site like 356registry has?

    Thanks Peter.

As usual... I didn't know about the party.

I thought it strange that someone didn't do this before. Great resource. I'll post 10-12 early case #'s in the next few weeks.

May I ask the VIN #?

Does each car match up with one unique engine #? Like would it not be a match if it were 6311301?

Each engine (and its given number) is mated with a specific VIN/chassis number- the last 4 digits are sequential (engine 1301, 1302, 1303 etc.)

Is there a way to track down the Vin number, based on the engine 1301?
