    Pomona Swap, Sunday 03-Jun

I read/hear a lot about Hershey and the Stoddard Meets, back East. Not close to me, but, still . . . love to/really wanna/gotta go some time

Meanwhile --- whenever I'm seriously Jonesin' for some car smut . . . I do the Pomona Swap Meet. George Cross & Sons has been putting on this show since I was in puka-shells, Hang-Tens and 501s. L.A. County Fairgrounds, 2500 spaces renting on like, 20-acres of automotively-accessorized asphalt. Used to be billed as a Porsche-Corvette-Volkswagen event, but it's pretty much a free-for-all, anymore. Customs, Antiques, Rat Rods, 'things with doors,' for-show, for-sale, for-the-hell-of-it, then there's The Swamp where it seems as if half of the world's automotive output for the last 50-years has exploded into pieces, for show, for-etc . . . plus there's a lot of local 'color' . . . hibachi's burning, ink showing, hootchie-shirts-&-brewskies at dawn kinda thing. Tangy. So don't bother shaving, ditch the Polo. I don't even wear socks, so . . .

$10 to park + $8 to get in
$25 to park any Porsche inside the show

    Gates open at 5:00 AM

    Need to break in a new seat so . . . . takin' 1059 . . .

Alright. Relax. Black Fuchs are fine, it's the black chrome that's too much too much.

Cool morning, and I don't know if that had an effect on the crowd + vendors . . . there've been a coupla mornings that I've come where you couldn't get in to 'display' by 7:00 AM ---- place'd be absolutely packed --- some vendors start arriving Friday . . . so this show felt a little light . . . then again --- I was broke by 7:30, so . . .

Do one of these shows in August? . . . . with 40 acres of asphalt? . . . . place is blazing by 10

Looks like one of the junk men went to Kinkos and got the bulk banner deal ... talk about ostentatious!

And what's with the guy who can't keep his skinny jeans up? Dude, if they don't fit, they're too skinny ... I no want to see your under-roos, kid.
