    Sauber F1 car cut in half

    Pretty interesting to see what's inside, but what a packaging nightmare!

    I always thought the laid down driving position of the F1 cars of the 60s looked uncomfortable, but this looks like torture.

    That was informative. Actually Jim, that position looks like torture, but in reality is probably not bad at all. I have some time in an unlimited aerobatic plane called a Sukhoi and it has a prone position much like that F1 car. Different reasoning somewhat, but you are positioned prone like that with you feet above your head. This position makes it easier for the pilot to keep blood flow to the brain during high G maneuvers (frequently 9G). It seems strange at first, but once you get going, it is actually very comfortable.
