    Late introduction

    Hello all,

I have been a member since 2009 but hadn't really had time to peruse the early 911s forums much.
I figured... because I just replied to one prior thread that I should at the very least introduce myself.
Some of you actually know me personally, I will however, spare the details...
My name is Richard Goncalves, I am in NJ and was born in the backseat of a 911 (well figuratively speaking) anyway.

    Best Regards to all
    Rich

P.S. I didn't see a formal intro thread so if there is one please feel free to move it.

Welcome Rich, a couple weeks ago Mark and I were laughing about looking at your shop in Google Earth Street View, and seeing his car parked on the sidewalk.

So, your dad was the Orlando mentioned in the R thread??

    Hi Jim

Thank you,Good to hear from you! Funny isn't it? Mark goes and googles my address and sees his car sitting there, even though it does look like the sidewalk it is actually part of our property. That indeed was my father mentioned in that R-thread, a Portuguese national, he lived in Paris approx 10 years.
Btw, how are those seats holding up? Still have them in your car?

    Best
    Rich

The seats are holding up very well. I probably have close to 50k miles of seat time in the ST with many 13 to 15 hour days while driving out to Michigan and back - it's still a very comfortable seat. The passenger seat rarely gets used and is still like new.

That's very cool that your dad was doing rallies in an R in Spain 'in the late 60s. I guess working on 911s in your blood. Has anyone been able to determine which R it was?

Better late than never... Rich has owned and built some cool cars over the years. How about posting some photos?

He's also the guy who built my hot rod.

I'm not sure if anyone has figured out which one it was, I'd love to have a pic of it.
