Our man in Bolton has pushed this to Wed/Thursday of next week. Excuses about weather and COVID-19 rearing its ugly head at his grocery store.

Feeling pretty cooped up on day 9 since work shut down. With kidney disease I can't afford to get this plague, so other than walking the dog at night and staying at a safe distance from the missus, my socialization is all with family and colleagues on Zoom.

Well, it will come as a surprise to exactly zero people that another deadline has come and gone. Cancelled dialysis on Wednesday and another medical appointment on Thursday to be be available and of course nothing to show for it.

It remains to be seen which will come back first. My car or the stock market.

Your patience and good nature have been thoroughly abused. It's time to get it the hell
out of there, finished or not.

You could make money to finish it but you cannot make more time. The older I get the more I use this mantra.

    Been there.
Find/pay/beg someone to go and pick it up. Make sure that the workshop owner will be there and send people.
At least you'd be *with* your car, which is better than the endless frustration

Problem is George that even if he said he would be there, there might not be anyone there when you drive hours to get there.

I am aware of that, but is there an alternative? Genuinely don't know, short of declaring the car stolen. Can he not send a notarised letter demanding release of the car on such and such date?

That is the problem. Although thanks to LongRanger, I know know where he lives. Problem now is, somebody in my state needs to really be self-isolating. Making frequent trips to the hospital is bad enough. So I don't want to risk the exposure chasing this guy around Bolton, ON. I'll give it one more week and then send a truck.

There's no money owed. It shouldn't be hard. To his credit he honoured his workmanship without any issues.

Since a few people have asked in threads or in PMs....the saga continues.

Om March 26th he said he was not fully done and wanted to road test her a few days and wanted to push the pickup to April 1st or 2nd. I moved a dialysis appointment on the 2nd so I could be good and ready as the weather was supposed to be good. Of course April 2nd came and went and his response was "I've started but not done. Wait for my green light".

That was the last I ever heard from him. So last Friday I drove out to Bolton to the shop, sending both emails and texts telling him I was coming to pick up the car with a auto moving company, so that whether it was finished or not, it was coming home. Of course the shop was closed. So I drove to his house, 10 minutes away, and spoke to his wife through the glass window and she said he was in the shop. So I went back and waited 7 hours in front of his shop (his car was there) but no sign of him. Finally left at 5:30 pm because it was a 3 hour drive home (2.5 hrs now because there is far less traffic). Friends think I'm insane stalking someone when I have a critical disease, and perhaps they are right. I don't want my wife to have to try to get it back should something bad happen to me. COVID-19 and chronic kidney disease do not mix. I am isolating at home, but you just never know.

I've sent 2 more emails and 2 more texts since. Nothing. I even offered a delivery bonus equal to my tax refund yesterday if he returns it by April 28th. Nothing.

    And so it goes.

    I'd call the police.
I can not tell you how sorry I am to read this. I'd give you use of my garage to finish it, but seeing where I am, not much use...
