Thanks to the very efficient Texas DMV and then Dr. Google, this evening I was able to find the first owner of my car. It belonged to a WWII US Navy vet who bought it on 7/20/73. He had a son who graduated from HS the previous year and a daughter who graduated the year after he bought the car. And a high school sweetheart he married in 1946, 2 years after her valedictorian speech.
The Texas DMV Title search showed only the one entry, so I naturally assumed he sold the car out of state and I'd have a wild goose chase to find more records.
Then I found this poignant picture of a gravesite in the town shown on the Title search. Had to be him. And her.
At first I though the trail ended here. But then I noticed that he died the 17th of April of 1988 and the car was first registered in Canada in late May 1988. Coincidence ? I don't think so. It would appear that his widow sold the car after he passed. In her obituary in 1988 in Lubbock, I found the name of the daughter and son, and with some more effort, traced the son on LinkedIn. I've written him this evening to see if my detective work has lead me to the heir.
I'm very excited ! It means that I now have a complete history of the previous 6 owners of this 41 year old car. All that is left is to find the selling dealer, which I've posted about separately here. http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ealers-in-1973
The car had 6 owners in Canada (including me), so I assumed it was equally unloved in the US. But it would appear one man bought this car and kept it to his death. Unlike Candyce and her lovely Sepia car, it appears that Patsy Boone didn't want to keep this memory of her husband. I hope to learn more from the son. Being a Pastor, I hope he will want to connect with his dad's old car. Hopefully the memories were good !

Excellent!
And here is the son's response. Not 25 minutes after I contacted him through LinkedIn. Isn't the interweb grand ?
Ravi, thank you very much for contacting me about the Porsche. I remember the car well, how much my father adored it, and how I loved to drive it myself. Yes, I'd love to see photos.
If you like, feel free to contact me via email xxxxxxxx

Spectacular! --- and congratulations
Also, it's encouraging to see that some searching really pays-off
Can't wait to hear those stories/see your pics
