LOL. Thanks. My wife was commenting that it looked better with the rolled end in, so I put it on that way. I was going to reverse it before taking pictures, but got ahead of myself and forgot because I was retorqing the CV joint bolts. Much embarrassed.
Thanks George for alerting me before I drove out into the world!

Much better now.
I use that very thin aluminum tape and wrap it around the CV. Keeps it from throwing grease.

^^^ +1 Ed...I thought that i might have been the only one
Thanks for the tip Ed. I was considering using the 3” wide metalized tape that is used for sealing ducts. I have rolls of it and it’s pretty robust.
But of course then I might not know if my bolts have backed out!!! I guess there is a Porsche recommended spec, but its probably 5000 miles, which seems long from what I just experienced. Once a month? Every 2 tank fills? Every oil change?

There is a '65 photo of the Porsche factory with '65 cars parked outside with the exhaust tips on backwards , so you're not the first .
The tape I use is just wide enough to cover the C.V. joint leaving the bolts exposed. I have never gone back to check C.V. bolts, I use split type lock washers and tighten the bolts with a 1 ft. lever. And no I have no idea of the torque, but they don't loosen up.

My wife is German...maybe one of her relatives was in charge at the factory and also decided that the “monza” look was better.
Over on Pelican, Grady and others swore one had to use only the Schnorr washers, and that’s what I have on mine. Just bought another 24 that were in the ESR FS section last night. On the Bird there is the whole thread on bolts coming out when Porsche removed those washers for cost control at some point in the 80’s and then put them back. But if split lock washers work.....With a 1 ft bar, it’s unlikely you are getting to the recommended 61 lb-ft spec, so that’s encouraging. I’ll keep an eye out on them for a while.
