Going rate for a 2.4S engine?

What is the going rate for a 2.4S engine (if you can find one for sale)?

Has anyone seen any recent sales?

    Thanks

It depends on the condition and the importance to the buyer. If non matching, complete but requires a rebuild then ~10K seems about right. If non matching, complete and doesn't require a rebuild then you may pay as high as 15K. If it's the engine that matches your car and the seller knows it then the price goes up dramatically. A matching '72/'73 is ~25K more than a non matching car so I would say 15K to 25K to make it matching seems appropriate.

At any price they are hard to find.
